Total Miles run: 113.1 NM

Comments: The trip did not go well. The CTD winch failed during the weight
cast at Kahe station with just over 700 meters of wire out. We were able to
get the weight and wire back. The engineers spent many hours trying to fix
the problem but were unable to get the winch working again. With this
problem with the ship's gear we were unable to complete the trip and
returned to pier 45.

Comments: We had the black out on the way out of the Harbor. The ship was
able to get the bow thruster and two generators back on line. The ship could
only use very low shaft RMP with the port prop on the way out. We were able
to make about 3 knots and continued out of the harbor. After getting 2.4 NM
off shore the engineers took the plant down and restarted everything. This
took about 11 minutes and after that everything was up and running fine. We
were able to continue on and complete the trip. The new MOBY was deployed
the afternoon of the 6th and the old MOBY was taken under tow. We recovered
the old MOBY the morning of the 7th and then returned back to pier 45 with
no further problems.
