HECO and the University of Hawaii at Manoa announced new energy partnership April 10th, 2007

Chancellor Denise Eby Konan and HECO President Mike May hosted the first meeting of the UH Manoa-HECO energy partnership at the East-West Center on April 10th.

The result of this meeting was the signing of a charter between the UH Manoa and HECO to support the activities between to two to increase campus energy efficiency, and meet the goals that were first unveiled at the Chancellors Energy Summit in October 2006.

As part of this partnership, HECO is providing valuable technical assistance to the UH Manoa facilities staff, faculty, and students on various aspects of campus energy management. For example, many of the meters on the UH Manoa Campus are of a type that HECO can link to its PowerTrax system, allowing users to track their energy on the web.
