| 02AUG2005: | In transit to Honolulu. Had to come to slow ahead at 0900 to make adjustments to both M/E. While the engineers were doing this they found that the governor needed to be changed out on the port M/E. It is 1140 and we now have both back on line. Not making very good speed. We have 25-30 kts out of the east north east with 10-12 seas. Only making about 7.5 kts. Still on our way though. |
| 03AUG2005: | In transit to Honolulu. Still not making very good speed. I am going to make an ETA at the sea buoy for 1530 on Friday the 5th of AUG. We should be able to make that if we have no other problems. We are getting 25-30 kt. winds out of the northeast and a 10-12 ft swell out of 030ºT. Making good about 7.4 kts. Can you call Aloha Tower and set up our arrival for 1530? That is all for now. |

| 01JUL2005: | The P-V was underwater at 1043 on Dive #643 with the following personnel. T.Kerby, C.Wollerman and A.Pile. We had to change out the subs this morning in rough conditions and I received your message while we were deploying the P-V for its dive. I will send you our times by fax when I get a chance. I do not like the email system the way it is. Some one who knows how to set this up better needs to be found. We should be able to transfer email out four times a day and it should only take five minutes per transfer. I do not have time to mess with it. |
| 02JUL2005: | The winds are out of the southeast 30-35 kts so no dive today. If the winds keep up we might dive in the lee of Tau Island which is about 20 miles to the west of us. Hopefully the weather will improve. |

| 06JUN2005: | Getting ready to go. Mike Hodge found a dead body floating off the stern yesterday. We called the police and they fished her out. They interviewed Mike and a few other crew members and we were cleared to leave. Will be leaving at 1600 today. |

| 11JUN2005: | We had to respond to an emergency last night about 2300 to a vessel in distress. Set CSE 300 T SPEED 8.0 KTS. The wind was 110 50KTS. As morning came the winds were moving to the East North East. At 0815 we took water into the hanger and cooked the UPS. The HURL boat was also damaged. We had to change CSE and head into the wind. Called TAUPO Maritime Radio and told them we could not continue on. At 1015 received a message that the people in distress had been saved. We are still hove to into the wind and swell. Winds right now are out of about 060 T, 35-45 KTS. We are hangin on. |
