Remote Sensing Study Site
Death Valley, California

Hawai`i Space Grant Consortium provides undergraduate students with current knowledge of remote sensing technology. Each year, university-level classes are given on the interpretation of radar and thermal data for geologic targets.

We sponsor an undergraduate field trip to Death Valley, California, where state-of-the-art remote sensing data from satellites are used to investigate various geological features, such as sand dunes, volcanic flows, salt flats, and alluvial fans.
