| Internship
Program at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology
Students
are well aware that to be gainfully employed after graduating from
college, they must have a well-rounded education, an excellent grade
point average, and experience in their field of study.
Internships
provide students the opportunity to build and gain practical experience.
While the experience does not guarantee employment after graduation,
students will find that their internship experiences will count
toward locating employment. Participation in an internship also
provides company sponsors opportunities to see how students perform
outside of academia and can provide opportunities for them to employ
interns after graduation.
Interns
will be able to step into a day-to-day work environment and experience
life as professionals after obtaining their degrees. Imagine applying
what you learn in the classroom toward your internship or vice versa!
SOEST
will provide information on available internships on a regular basis.
Students are required to apply for the internships and submit necessary
requirements. The host employer will make the final selection and
placements are not guaranteed.
This internship program is designated for undergraduates in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology who are majoring in Geology, Geology & Geophysics, Global Environmental Science, and Meteorology.”
