Other Ways to Help

Can't commit to four hours a week? Is Hanauma Bay too long of a commute? No problem! You can help protect Hanauma Bay and Hawaii's marine environment in many other ways. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Educate Yourself

  • Take a class, or attend a program, at a local university, community college, museum or nature center

  • Inform yourself of coastal issues. Learn about the impacts of alien species, tourism, development, fishing and recreational usage of coastal areas… Read everything you can!

  • Get wet! Explore coastal areas in your community
  • Support a marine-related or environmentally focused non-profit in your community through membership, volunteer assistance, a monetary donation, or in-kind gift.
