Ala Wai Entrance Survey

 

This mission was the first of a series of ongoing surveys of the Ala Wai Canal Plume. The vehicle was deployed offshore of the Ala Wai entrance and headed east conducting the survey. The mission was stopped early because of vessel traffic in the area. The mission was designed to allow the vehicle collect surface data and profile data on most legs. The vehicle used GPS for navigation and completed the mission in 1 hour 49 minutes covering a total distance of 11.69km. Data collected includes bathymetry, currents, acoustic backscatter, optical backscatter, chlorophyll flouresence, salinity and temperature.
