Title and outline

The Authors are generally free to title their chapters and organize their sections. The attached suggested outline provides an orientation for the purpose of cross-reference. Please feel free to adjust and amend as you see it fit. Please send me your modified chapter outline at your earliest timeconvenience if you have not done so. The outline will be timely updated on the web page.

Length of the text

It is suggested that the text for each chapter should not exceed 30 printed book pages (about 10K words plus 10-15 figures) in general. A concise text will provide with readers only fundamentalessential knowledge, current understanding and a sense of the complexity and interconnectedness of the monsoon system without excessive details being referred to proper published papers or books.in any particular area.

Guidelines for text format

Authors are required to provide MS Word file for your text. Each chapter must include (i) a complete accurate bibliography and (ii) a list of abbreviations used in your chapter.

The format of the text layout and bibliography should strictly follow the  Praxis house style . To save space the editor will compile a List of References and a List of Abbreviations for the entire book. Please consider the above requirement essential for the efficient processing of text.

General review, literature and indices are needed

It is suggested that each chapter contains an authoritative review covering from major conceptual breakthrough to frontier research issues on the subject. Each chapter should include a comprehensive bibliography and a lost of indices used in the chapter.

Use of Figures

It is desirable to use graphical material (some in color) to illustrate the key concepts and to augment descriptions. Given the large number of figures expected, majority of the figures should be black and white / gray scale compatible. Consider use of color only for the most important plots or when it is necessary for clarity.

The way artwork/illustrations/images have been supplied by authors is extremely important for the book quality and timely publication. Authors should supply their artwork in one of the following two formats where possible:

·       tif files

·       eps files

Please read Format for artwork  in the web page for detailed specification and information.
