EL NIŅO/SOUTHERN OSCILLATION (ENSO)

DIAGNOSTIC ADVISORY

El Niņo/La Niņa advisories are only issued when conditions across the tropical Pacific warrant.  Currently, near-neutral conditions are observed across the tropical Pacific.  Future advisories will be issued when there are significant indications of the development of warm or cold episode conditions in the tropical Pacific. Weekly updates for SST, 850-hPa wind, and OLR are available on the Climate Prediction Center homepage at: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov (Weekly Update).  Forecasts for the evolution of El Niņo/La Niņa are updated monthly in CPC's Climate Diagnostics Bulletin Forecast Forum.
