Travel to Monterey County Travel by air directly to the Monterey Peninsula Airport is serviced by three main carriers--United Express, American Airlines/Eagle and America West, and their worldwide affiliated partners--from more than 80 flights daily to major hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. If you are flying in to San Jose or San Francisco, the Monterey Airbus (www.montereyairbus.com) provides shuttle service to within one block of the Casa Munras Garden Hotel for $30 and $40, respectively, each way. If you are driving, two main highways enter Monterey County: Highway One clings to the coastline and Highway 101 that runs down the agricultural valley corridor. If driving from San Francisco, anticipate the traveling time to be 2.5 to 3 hours each way. |
