Thermosalinograph

In conjunction with these meteorological observations, bottle samples will be taken from the ship's thermosalinograph. The thermosalinograph measures the ocean's near surface temperature and salinity continuously throughout the cruise. The bottle samples will help to calibrate the near surface salinity data.
