Cable Observatory System is now operational.
- In the morning of February 16 the ALOHA cabled observatory Proof Module started transmitting from the ocean floor in 4,700 m of water at station ALOHA (22° 45' N, 158° W) to the AT&T Makaha Cable Station in O'ahu.
