Grading
• Based on weekly in-class assignments, occasional summaries of reading materials and the class project. The class project will involve a dataset of interest to the student (or supplied by the instructor if necessary). You will be expected to keep a notebook of your work in class and complimentary work with your personal dataset applied outside of class time. The notebook will include your assessment of various techniques (data processed in class) and where feasible, application and assessment of these techniques to your personal datasets. Readings will occasionally be assigned to supplement work done in the classroom. Individual students will lead discussion of these papers and a one-page synopsis of each article is expected for inclusion on the course webpage.
• There will not be a mid-term or final exam.
Article Summaries
To be assigned at class time. After presenting a summary in class, please email a 1-page
(or thereabouts) PDF with scientific/technical summary and evaluation to Margo.
