GG Department became the Department of Earth Sciences Effective Sept. 2018
After a 5 year process consulting stakeholders and assessing where the department was headed, a department and degree name change proposal was approved by the UH President in summer 2018
Name Change Details:
- + Department of Earth Sciences.
- + Undergraduate degrees renamed to Earth Sciences (BS) and Environmental Earth Science (BA)
- + Graduate degrees renamed to Earth and Planetary Sciences
We thank our community for their patience with the transition, the name "Geology and Geophysics" will always hold a special place in the hearts of our faculty, students, staff, and alumni.
