Research Interests

My research interests include geophysical and geological fluid dynamics, elasticity, nonlinear waves and coastal processes and the general ocean circulation. Specific projects include
Analytical expressions for displacements and stresses in elastic half-spaces
Dynamical models of pattern formation in the nearshore.
The effects of sloping boundaries on theoretical models of the general ocean circulation.

Teaching Interests

Geomathematics ( GG312 ): Differential equations, linear algebra and vector calculus applied to the Earth and Ocean sciences.
Equations of Geophysics ( GG600 ): Partial and ordinary differential equations for Earth and Ocean Scientists.
Geological Fluid Dynamics (GG711): Advanced fluid dynamics for geoscientists.
Advanced Mathematical Methods for Scientist and Engineers (GG711): Asymptotic series, perturbation theory, boundary layer theory, WKB, multiple-scale analysis.
