International Youth Hostel

Getting Around
TheBus is the bus service that serves the island of O'ahu. Check their website for fares, schedules and maps. The busses that frequently serve the university are are the #6, #4, and A.

Wiamea Bay

Sandy Beach Park

Makaha Beach Park
Long drive, but stunning views of cliffs with the ocean. Locals go there usually. Located at 84-369 Farrington Highway, Waianae, HI.

Attractions

Best Hikes
Up to the top of Diamond Head Monument, recommended by Bill Hagopian.
Koko Head Hike. Great workout. Bring lots of water. Recommended by Brian Schubert.
Muanawilli Falls Hike. Slippery, but good views and waterfall at end of hike to jump into. To get there from Waikiki take H1 west bound and get off at Pali exit. Turn right onto Auloa Road. Keep left at the fork to get on Maunawili Road. Follow the signs to Maunawili Falls. Recommended by Brian Schubert.
Best Free Activities
Friday Night Fireworks, viewable from anywhere in Waikiki. They are sponsored by the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
International Marketplace, located on 2330 Kalakaua Avenue, next to Waikiki Town Center. You don't have spend money, but this is a fun and ethnically interesting place to walk around and check out.
Best Sunset
San Souci Beach for an ocean view, recommended by Hope. Located near Kapiolani Park.
Wa'ahila Ridge State Recreation Area for the view from up high, recommended by Bill Hagopian.
