Phase I 

Design and construct a proof of concept module to be deployed in 2007

Outcome: Hydrophone amplifier, A/D converter, Manchester encoder, and microprocessor completed and under testing phase.

Design and construction of a prototype Observatory.

Outcome: Completed 6/04.

 

Calibration and testing of Observatory hardware and software to control power and communications. Integrate Observatory to simulated experiment.

Outcome: Completed system integration of Observatory with the SEM (Small Experiment Module) and ULF.  Able to supply and control power to the SEM, and transmit leveling instructions to the ULF and receive simulated seismic data. 7/04
