Aloha Cabled Observatory Engineering Documentation Proof Module Ocean Block diagram
HAW-4 CABLE HAW-4 is SL21 light cable containing 6 fibers. There are four optical regenerators (about every 70 km) between Station ALOHA and Makaha. The Proof Module utilizes one pair of fibers, one pair is not used until the Observatory is connected in Phase 2 (where it becomes a spare pair), and the third pair are looped-back in the cable splice in the front of the termination frame.
