Aloha Cabled Observatory Engineering Documentation Voltage to Frequency Converter
Voltage on the DC-DC converters are measured by using crystal controlled voltage-to-frequency converters. The coupling is through 1mm plastic fibers, providing a high degree of isolation. With another Observatory daisy-chained further out on the cable, the standoff voltage could reach 8kV, so we implemented a high-voltage safe system from the start.
