Shunt Regulator

The 1.6 Amp constant-current SL280 cable used as a source requires the use of shunt regulators to stabilize the impedance of the node.  Both computer modeling and scaled tests indicate there will be more than adequate cooling to dissipate the maximum power.  The Shunt Regulator design is “incremental fault tolerant”, meaning that the failure of one or more shunt elements cannot bring down the whole system.
