RS 232 User Comm Port

 RS232 User interface

          The RS232 user communication interface is one of three possible interfaces (5, 7).  This is a hardware dependent choice and selection is made prior to deployment.  The interface is an isolated RS232 to RS232 converter and is dynamically programmable to one of two terminal servers inside the observatory (14). The two terminal servers provide communication path redundancy.
