Local User Port Interface Microcontroller

Local User Port Microcontroller (two)

Up to six user experiment systems can be connected to the observatory using low-voltage ports.  The ports are electrically configured in two groups of three.  Each user port microcontroller controls one group of three directly and if necessary for redundancy the other group of three indirectly (by taking control).  The microcontroller controls both the communication data path (5, 6, or 7) and power/circuit breaker (10, 11, or 12) to each user port.   Additionally, the microcontroller monitors the currents for each circuit breaker and distributes the IRIG-B analog to the user ports.
