Data updates - December 18, 1998

There have been a few changes which you should be aware of. There are some data files which should be reacquired via ftp as they have been updated. Our ftp site is: mana.soest.hawaii.edu and the files are in the /pub/seacat directory.

The 3 m Seacat (#1099) at 2 S, 156 E was set adrift when the mooring sunk on February 10, 1994. Originally, the salinity corrections described in "QC-EDITS" did not adjust the salinity data recorded while the Seacat was adrift. As of December 18, 1998, these data are now corrected in the sc10992.fnl file.
Data from the 5 m Seacat (#1094) at 5 S, 156 E during 1992-1993 were converted from hex with incorrect calibration information. Thus, all temperature and salinity values were incorrect. Also, a timing error was present as the start time occurred 10 minutes too early. As of December 18, 1998, these data are now corrected in the sc10941.fnl file.
