Nowcast/Forecast
In order to properly prepare for operations at Station ALOHA, it is important to know both real-time and predicted sea conditions for the site.
Forecasts of the currents at Station ALOHA, as well as other
oceanographic parameters such as Sea Surface Height, Sea
Surface Temperature and Sea Surface Salinity can be obtained
from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Global HYbrid Coordinate
Ocean Model (HYCOM)
Another forecast is from the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) ocean
model for temperature, salinity, velocity, and surface height, currents, and model trajectories.

The NRL Navy Coastal Ocean Model (NCOM) also produces forecasts of the same parameters at a different scale. The forecast of Sea Surface Temperature from NRL NCOM:
